Image showing a subject in a VEP recording session in the clinical neurophysiology laboratory of the Ibrahima Pierre Neuroscience Clinic of Fann national teaching hospital in Dakar (Senegal). Legend: The recording was done in a dark room with quiet surroundings. The subcutaneous needle electrodes were placed on the scalp: the active electrode placed in Oz and the reference electrode in Cz (according to the International 10/20 system); the mass electrode placed on the forearm. Visual stimulation was performed by an alternating checkerboard (from black to white and from white to black) at a fixed rate of two reversals per second.
